Dysphagia, a swallowing disorder, can result from various neurological changes, such as Stroke, Brain Injury, Parkinson's Disease, Dementia, and other progressive conditions.

Symptoms of Dysphagia may include:

- Coughing during or right after meals
- Choking
- Food or liquid remaining in the mouth after meals
- Food or liquid spilling from the mouth
- Complaints of food "sticking"
- Difficulty coordinating breathing and swallowing
- Recurrent pneumonia
- Extra effort/time needed to chew
Your SLP has diverse experience with dysphagia and will help you achieve your eating and swallowing goals so you can get back to eating and drinking without worrying about aspiration.
